Ryan Air Technical Questions

What is Mach Trimmer?
Answer: Mach trimmers allow for an aircraft's normal operating speed range to be above its Mcrit. It also componsate for Mach tuck.

Why does some aircraft have winglets?
Answer: Winglets prevent factors like induced drag. Winglets are aereodynamically surfaces located at the wingtips, they prevent intermixing airflow from upper and lower surfaces.

What is the function of a supercharger?
Answer: A super charger increases the air delivered to the engine cylinder above its normally aspirated capacity by compressing the intake air, which in turn requires more fule to the engine to maintain correct mixture ratio. Which in turn produces greater power output.

When would you expect carburator icing to occur?
Answer: OAT= -10C - +30C and high humidity or visible moisture in the air
