Who are we hiring?
Works within MSG Aviation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service. Acts as Pilot in Command (PIC) of flights for which the Senior Captain has been scheduled. As such, the Senior Captain has the final authority for the operation of the aircraft.
What will you do?
- Earns the complete respect and trust of every passenger and flight department member in the operation of the aircraft. Recognized as a technical expert with regard to assigned aircraft with respect to aircraft operations and Maintenance interface.
- Studies weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points, and makes appropriate weather related mission decisions. Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination as operating conditions dictate.
- Provides excellent customer service to passengers consistent with applicable government regulations and MSG Aviation’s flight standards as documented in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Ensures that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
- Meets schedules and other directives governing the aircraft's operation consistent with applicable government regulations and MSG Aviation’s flight standards as documented in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Prepares flight plans (unless done by a Flight Dispatcher) and contingency plans.
- Reviews and calculates the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts.
- Ensures that preflight inspections are performed satisfactorily.
- Complies with all SOPs including the diligent use of aircraft checklists.
- Manages and coordinates the flight and cabin crew performance, maintains a cohesive working team, shares knowledge with crewmembers and evaluates crewmember potential for advancement. Is a willing and active mentor to developing members of MSG Aviation and the Business Aviation community.
- Maintains the highest levels of personal integrity, honesty and professionalism.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor degree in Aviation or equivalent discipline
- Captain shall have an excellent knowledge of the aircraft they shall command, client service expectations and skills, CFRs, ICAO Standards, applicable International Jurisdiction Regulations, CSC Transport SOPs and Meteorological
- Must be able to fly Gulfstream 650 planes; ability to fly G550 planes in addition is preferred.
- Should possess a strong technical background, interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities
- The minimum flight time requirements are 5000 hours total time, 2000 hours turbine time, 1500 hours Pilot in Command and 500 hours time in G650.
- Previous experience operating in 14 CFR Part 91 or 135 environments required, with a thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 91 and ICAO Standard
- Must have a demonstrated track record of an excellent working relationship with the FAA
- Must hold valid FAA Class I medical certificate.
Special Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
