The Head of Training is the NP Crew Training (ORO.AOC.135(a)(2)) and the HT for CityJet ATO (ORA.ATO.110). 

They are ultimately responsible to the Accountable Manager and have responsibility for all aspects of flight crew training and the safety related aspects of cabin crew training for the maintenance of flying and other proficiency standards. 

The Head of Training reports to the Director of Flight Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Head of Training

• Prepares and manages all crew training syllabi and courses in such a manner as to comply with the Company’s training, operational and safety standards and all regulatory requirements
• Establishes the appropriate level of training for all flight crew, cabin crew and OCC personnel
• Is responsible for the conduct of all Cabin Crew initial training conducted by the CityJet CCTO
• Is responsible for the conduct of all pilot training conducted by the CityJet ATO as per ATO OM 1.A.3.4.
• Ensures that the necessary structures, resources and equipment are in place, within the company or on outside contract, to fully support the training needs of the organization
• Coordinates and integrates pilot training requirements, plans and programmes, taking into consideration the training requirements with respect to other crew members
• Monitors the execution of agreed training plans
• In conjunction with the Head of Operations Control, is responsible for planning and coordination of OCC personnel training
• Ensures compliance, through a framework of training policies and standards, with all legal and Company requirements in respect of the training and checking of Company pilots
• Monitors the standards of proficiency of all fleet flight crew members with particular emphasis on safety
• Monitors ICAO Technical Instructions relating to Dangerous Goods
• Ensures that all initial and recurrent staff training relating to the carriage of Dangerous Goods meets the applicable requirements of EASA Part SPA and IATA standards
• Ensures that the qualification requirements for Dangerous Goods instructors are compliant with the associated regulations
• Ensures that the training of flight crew is carried out with the minimum disruption, consistent with safety, of the operation
• Prepares the annual budgets for training programmes
• Ensures on behalf of the Company that any training given to individual flight crew members has achieved the required standard and for the subsequent release of those crew members for duty
• Maintains, amends and revises as necessary theOversees the approval and quality control of all synthetic flight training devices including simulators and training aids

• Maintains all records – which includes competency checks, emergency and survival drill checks, crew currency and all necessary training records
• Is responsible for implementing a corrective action plan where non-conformities are identified
• Keeps abreast of the latest statutory, operational, technical and safety developments and devise and implement action plans to ensure that the company incorporates any necessary changes to regulations in a timely and appropriate manner

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• Must hold an ATPL
• Qualified TRE/TRI
• Hold a valid flight crew license and the current rating for the CL65 (if the rating is not current, previous experience on the CL65 will be considered)
• Total 5000 flying hours with a minimum of 1000 hours pilot in command on multi crew aircraft
