The purpose of the role is to manage the OCC shift, working closely with LMC and the Crewing team, ensuring that the operation is conducted in accordance with the Safety Management System.
Key Accountabilities:
- Promote and implement the Company SMS to ensure that the prevention of accidents is a priority.
- Ensure all flights are appropriately assigned to an aircraft registration.
- Keeping a flight watch on the Company aircraft and any other flight for which the Company has a responsibility.
- In the event of accident or serious incident activate the Emergency Response Procedure.
- Work with the crew controller to ensure flight and duty time limitations are complied with. Refer to Chapter 7.
- Informing Handling Agencies of the aircraft and crew details for ad-hoc flights operated by ASL Airlines.
- Keep ASL Management and Customers appraised of any foreseeable disruption to the programme and discuss options for avoiding and/or recovering from any disruption to services.
- Keep Sabre Movement Manager updated with flight information, including times, delay codes, aircraft allocation, etc.

- Ensure that all ad-hoc airport arrival and departure slots have been allocated.
- Complete the duty report detailing relevant information to assist management and their relieving managers.
- Adhere to the requirements as stated in Chapter 6 – General Crew Health Requirements when dealing with aircraft crews.
- Submit reports that identify safety hazards, expose safety deficiencies, and raise safety concerns within the organisation
- Coordinate escalation procedures and contingency plans as necessary in order to demonstrate absolute control of ASL Air operations and performance. Manage the accuracy of the data introduced on the company flight operations system
- In conjunction with the ASL senior management, makes final decisions in day to day ASL air operations ensuring that prior to a flight release, all legal, regulatory and operational requirements are fulfilled. Coordinate all actions and initiatives in order to optimise ASL Air operations. Coordinate published ASL flights ensuring correct operation complement and compliance with regulatory, industrial, and company requirements
- Assess all available resources during disruption and implement legal recovery plans in accordance with regulatory and company policies. Ensure management are constantly aware of ASL Air operations by exception. Ensure that escalation procedures and contingency planning of ASL air operations are in place
- Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process
