In a nutshell
We’re looking for a Specialist to join our Airport Operations Policy & Procedures team. This is a small and very knowledgeable team that sits right at the heart of the operation. You’ll work with colleagues across our global stations, supporting policy development, manual updates, compliance monitoring, operational safety and business continuity.
This role offers brilliant exposure. It is a great development opportunity where previous post-holders have moved into management. With the team now smaller there’s even more opportunity to learn, contribute to projects and shape how we operate. You’ll also benefit from a flexible working pattern and regular time at LHR to stay connected to our airport operation.
With a major manual release planned for March being prepared in February, we are targeting an end of January start date.
Day to day
As a Specialist, Airport Operations Policy & Procedures, you will:
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of above and below wing processes and use this to help shape policies and procedures
- Support the drafting, development and governance of airport manuals and controlled documents
- Provide clear, accurate guidance to stations when they need help understanding procedures or compliance expectations
- Translate complex information or regulation into practical, simple language that frontline teams can apply
- Identify risks, gaps or opportunities for improvement through audits, compliance data and station feedback
- Create briefing notes, updates and training materials to help colleagues understand what’s changing and why
- Maintain version control and change logs to ensure content is accurate and traceable
- Support the development and upkeep of Business Continuity Plans across our stations
- Work closely with Safety, Training and Airport Operations teams to ensure policies are safe, aligned and deliverable
- Take ownership of delegated workstreams and support projects across the wider operation
About you
This is a role where operational grounding and mindset are just as important as technical skill. You’ll need curiosity, strong attention to detail and the confidence to work with senior leaders who often come straight to this team for guidance.
Alongside the above, you'll need:
- Ramp or Load Control experience is essential
- Strong written skills and attention to detail
- Experience interpreting operational or regulatory information
- Background in an operational airport or airline environment
- Curiosity and a proactive approach to improving processes
- Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to analyse information, identify gaps and link findings back to practical solutions
